The episode starts with the TARDIS materializing in the middle of a Dalek invasion on a remote planet. The 8th Doctor and Tamsin Drew step out to find themselves surrounded by dozens of paradigm Daleks. The Doctor and Tamsin quickly realize that they are vastly outnumbered and outgunned.
As the Daleks advance towards them, the Doctor tries to reason with them, but they are unyielding. Tamsin suggests they make a run for it, but the Doctor reminds her that the TARDIS is likely to be surrounded by Daleks as well. They are trapped.
Just as the Daleks are about to exterminate them, the Doctor suddenly remembers a key piece of information. He pulls out his sonic screwdriver and uses it to create a feedback loop in the Daleks' communication network. The Daleks are caught off guard and are momentarily disabled.
In that moment, the Doctor and Tamsin make a run for it, heading towards the TARDIS. But the Daleks quickly recover and begin chasing after them.
As they approach the TARDIS, Tamsin takes out a Dalek with a well-aimed shot. The Doctor quickly unlocks the door and they both jump in, slamming the door shut behind them.
Safe inside the TARDIS, the Doctor breathes a sigh of relief. But just as they begin to relax, they hear a loud thud coming from outside the TARDIS doors. The Daleks are trying to break in.
Thinking quickly, the Doctor sets the TARDIS controls for a random destination and activates the engines. The TARDIS disappears in a flash, leaving the Daleks behind.
As the TARDIS hurtles through the vortex, the Doctor and Tamsin exchange a relieved smile. They narrowly escaped the Daleks, but they both know it won't be the last time they encounter the deadly creatures.
The episode ends with the Doctor promising to keep Tamsin safe and the two of them heading off to their next adventure.
