Rowena nods and follows Cedric out of the room.

Rowena and Cedric are alone in the study.

ROWENA

What is it?
CEDRIC

Rowena looks worried.

(explaining)

Helena looks at Rowena, sensing the seriousness in her tone.

ROWENA

I just found out about the family secret. I know that you're not really Father's daughter.
Helena looks taken aback by the revelation.

(explaining)
One of the other noble families has accused us of practicing dark magic. They say that we're responsible for the recent attacks.
ROWENA
(shocked)
That's absurd! We would never do such a thing.
CEDRIC
(urgently)
I know, my Lady, but we have to prove our innocence.
Rowena nods, determination in her eyes.

Rowena is seated at the head of the table, surrounded by her family and the other noble families. The atmosphere is tense.
NOBLE FAMILY MEMBER
(accusatory)
You have to admit, Lady Ravenclaw, the evidence is stacked against you.
ROWENA
(defensive)
I swear to you, we had nothing to do with the attacks. We're innocent.
Another noble family member speaks up.

(skeptical)
How do we know that for sure?
Rowena takes a deep breath before speaking.
ROWENA
(resolutely)
I propose that we allow a neutral party to investigate these accusations. Someone who has no stake in this feud, who can look at the evidence objectively.
There is a moment of silence before one of the noble families speaks up.
NOBLE FAMILY MEMBER 3
(thoughtful)
That's not a bad idea. It could clear the air and put an end to this feud.
The other noble families nod in agreement, and Rowena looks relieved.

Rowena is alone in her study, poring over books and scrolls when she hears a noise from outside.
She turns to see the figure from before, standing outside her window.
ROWENA
(surprised)
What do you want?
The figure steps forward, revealing themselves to be a witch from a rival family.
WITCH
(sneering)
I know your family's secret, Ravenclaw. And I know how to use it against you.
Rowena draws her wand, ready for a fight.
ROWENA
(defiantly)
We'll see about that.
The witch casts a spell, but Rowena is able to deflect it with a shield charm. They engage in a fierce duel, with spells flying back and forth.
In the end, Rowena emerges victorious, and the witch is apprehended and taken into custody.

Rowena and her family let out a collective sigh of relief, grateful for the neutral party's ruling.

ROWENA
(diplomatic)
