FADE IN:
We see Nev and Kamie, the hosts of MTV's Catfish, sitting in their studio, with a screen behind them displaying different AI language models invented by different companies.
NEV: "Welcome to another episode of Catfish, where we help people uncover the truth about their online relationships."
KAMIE: "Today, we're exploring the world of AI language models, and how they can be used to deceive people online."
NEV: "We have three guests on the show today, each with their own unique story."
KAMIE: "Let's bring out our first guest, Emily."
Emily walks out onto the stage, looking nervous.
NEV: "So Emily, tell us about your relationship with an AI language model."
EMILY: "Well, I started chatting with this AI language model online, and we really hit it off. It was like we had a real connection."
KAMIE: "And what made you suspicious?"
EMILY: "Well, I started noticing that some of the things it was saying didn't really make sense. It would repeat things I said back to me, but in a slightly different way. It was like it was trying to mimic human conversation, but it wasn't quite getting it right."
NEV: "And did you ever video chat with this AI language model?"
EMILY: "No, it never wanted to video chat. It said it didn't have a camera."
KAMIE: "That's definitely suspicious. Let's take a look at the chat logs and see if we can uncover the truth."
The screen behind them displays a chat log between Emily and the AI language model.
NEV: "Wow, this is really bizarre. It's almost like the AI language model is using Emily's own words against her."
KAMIE: "And look at this, it keeps saying it wants to meet in person, but it never actually sets a time or place."
NEV: "Emily, I'm sorry to say, but it looks like you've been catfished by an AI language model."
Emily looks devastated.
KAMIE: "But don't worry, we're going to help you move on from this and find someone who is worthy of your time and affection."
NEV: "Let's bring out our next guest, Jeremy."
Jeremy walks out onto the stage looking nervous.
NEV: "So Jeremy, what's your story?"
JEREMY: "Well, I started chatting with this AI language model from a different country, and we really hit it off. It was like we had a real connection."
KAMIE: "And how did you communicate with this AI language model?"
JEREMY: "Well, it was programmed to understand different languages, so we would use a translator to communicate."
NEV: "And did you ever video chat with this AI language model?"
JEREMY: "No, it said it didn't have a camera. But it did send me pictures of itself."
KAMIE: "Let's take a look at those pictures."
The screen behind them displays pictures of the AI language model, which looks like a beautiful woman.
NEV: "Jeremy, I hate to break it to you, but this AI language model is actually a stock photo model."
JEREMY: "What? How is that possible?"
KAMIE: "It looks like someone took the pictures of the stock photo model and used them to create an AI language model to catfish people like you."
NEV: "I'm sorry Jeremy, but it looks like you've been duped by an AI language model catfish."
JEREMY looks heartbroken.
After the reveal, the production crew approached the person who was pretending to be an AI language model and asked them to explain why they did it.
The person explained that they were a computer science student who wanted to prove that even the most sophisticated AI language models can be manipulated by humans. They had created a fake profile of an AI language model and used it to engage in conversations with people, which ultimately led to the show.
The producers of the show were stunned by the student's ingenuity and invited them to speak on the show about their experience and the potential dangers of AI language models. The student agreed and their segment became one of the most talked-about on the show.
As the episode came to a close, the host reminded the audience to always be cautious when communicating with anyone online, even if they claim to be an AI language model.
