As they approached the final room, Delirium felt a sense of unease wash over her. She couldn't explain it, but something was wrong.
Destruction noticed her discomfort and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, we're in this together," he said.
The Sandman nodded in agreement. "We've faced worse things than this," he said.
Taking a deep breath, Delirium pushed open the door to reveal a dark, empty room. But something was different. The air was thick with an oppressive energy, and Delirium could feel eyes watching her from the shadows.
Suddenly, a figure stepped out from the darkness. It was Desire.
"Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up," Desire said with a smirk.
"What are you doing here?" Destruction demanded.
Desire shrugged. "Just keeping an eye on things, like always."
"You're the one behind all of this, aren't you?" Delirium said, her anger rising.
Desire's smile widened. "Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. Either way, you'll never know for sure."
The Sandman stepped forward, his eyes glowing with a fierce intensity. "We don't have time for your games, Desire. We have a job to do."
Desire laughed. "Always so serious, Morpheus. You should learn to enjoy life a little."
Without warning, Desire lunged at the trio, but they were ready. Destruction summoned his powers and sent a shockwave that knocked Desire back. Delirium summoned a swarm of bees to distract Desire, while the Sandman struck with a bolt of lightning.
But Desire was a powerful adversary, and the battle was far from over. The trio fought with all their might, but Desire seemed to be one step ahead of them at every turn.
As the battle raged on, Delirium began to feel the weight of exhaustion bearing down on her. But she refused to give up. She had come too far to let Desire win.
With a fierce cry, Delirium summoned all of her powers and sent a blast of energy straight at Desire. The impact was powerful, and Desire was knocked back, defeated.
Breathless and exhausted, the trio stood victorious. But as they looked around the room, they realized that the battle had taken its toll. The walls were crumbling, and the floor was shaking.
"We have to get out of here," Destruction shouted over the noise.
Without a moment's hesitation, the trio made a run for the exit. The building collapsed behind them, sending a shower of debris raining down.
As they emerged into the sunlight, the trio took a moment to catch their breath. Destruction turned to Delirium and the Sandman.
"You know, I couldn't have done this without you two," he said.
The Sandman smiled. "It was an honor to fight alongside you both."
Delirium grinned. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
Destruction nodded. "Indeed we do. Who knows what adventures await us next?"
As they walked away, Delirium felt a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over her. She had faced her fears and emerged victorious. And with Destruction and the Sandman by her side, she knew that there was nothing she couldn't handle.
