Episode 3: "The Tell-Tale Heart"
The TARDIS materializes in a modern-day hospital, and the Doctor, Yaz, and Ryan step out to investigate. They soon meet a patient named Thomas, who claims to have committed a murder. The Doctor is immediately intrigued and decides to help Thomas uncover the truth.
As they delve deeper into Thomas's story, they realize that the truth is far more horrifying than they could have ever imagined. Thomas claims to have murdered his roommate, but as the Doctor and her companions investigate, they find that there are inconsistencies in Thomas's story.
As they continue to investigate, the Doctor discovers that there is a malevolent creature lurking in the hospital, manipulating Thomas's memories and using him as a pawn in its own sinister game. The creature feeds on fear and trauma, and it's been preying on the patients of the hospital for some time.
The Doctor and her companions team up with some of the hospital staff to take down the creature and free the patients from its grip. They soon realize that the creature has been preying on Thomas's guilt over something else entirely, and that his confession of murder was a fabrication created by the creature.
As the creature is defeated, Thomas is released from its grip and is finally able to confront his true guilt. The Doctor and her companions bid farewell to Thomas and the hospital staff, knowing that they've made a difference in their lives.
As the TARDIS dematerializes, the Doctor reflects on the events of the night. She knows that the universe is a dark and dangerous place, but she's determined to keep fighting against the forces of evil and help those in need.
