Episode 4: "The Pit and the Pendulum"
The TARDIS materializes in the middle of the Spanish Inquisition, and the Doctor, Yaz, and Ryan are immediately accused of heresy. They are taken prisoner and thrown into a dungeon, where they soon realize that they're not alone. Other prisoners are being held captive, and some are being subjected to the torturous devices of The Pit and the Pendulum.
The Doctor and her companions know they must act fast if they're going to escape. They team up with the other prisoners and begin to formulate a plan. They quickly discover that there's something strange going on in the dungeons - the tortures seem to be controlled by an unseen force.
As they work to uncover the truth, the Doctor and her companions find themselves in a race against time. The Pit and the Pendulum is getting closer and closer, and they know that they must escape before it's too late.
With their quick thinking and teamwork, the Doctor and her companions are able to escape the dungeon and confront the unseen force behind the tortures. They discover that an alien race has been using the Inquisition's fear and terror to power their own devices. The Doctor and her companions are able to stop the aliens and restore peace to the dungeon.
As they make their escape from the Inquisition, the Doctor reflects on the horrors they've witnessed. She knows that there are still people in the universe who seek to control and manipulate others, but she's also seen firsthand the power of hope and teamwork.
