AI Writing: Who Murdered Desire?

Destruction finally emerged from his thoughts and turned to his siblings. "I know who did it," he said.

Death raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

"Dream," Destruction said, his voice firm.

Delirium gasped. "No, Dream wouldn't do that!"

"He's been acting strange lately," Destruction continued. "And he had the motive. He was jealous of us, jealous of our powers."

Destiny sighed. "It is true that Dream has been struggling with his own power lately. But I cannot believe that he would resort to murder."

Destruction shrugged. "Believe what you will, but I know what I saw."

The Sandman spoke up for the first time. "I did not do it," he said simply.

Death looked at her siblings. "We need to investigate further," she said. "We cannot accuse Dream without evidence."

And so, the four Endless set out to investigate the murder of Desire. They searched the Dreaming for any clues or evidence, but everything seemed to lead to a dead end.

Days turned into weeks, and the investigation seemed to be going nowhere. But then, Destiny had an idea. He consulted his Book of Destiny and found a clue that would lead them to the killer.

The four Endless followed the clue to a remote corner of the Dreaming, where they found Dream sitting alone, brooding.

"You killed Desire, didn't you?" Death asked, her voice cold.

Dream looked up, surprise and guilt written all over his face. "Yes," he admitted. "I did it."

"Why?" Destruction demanded.

Dream looked at each of his siblings in turn. "I couldn't take it anymore," he said. "I was tired of feeling powerless. I was tired of watching all of you wield your powers with such ease, while I struggled with mine. I wanted to prove that I was just as powerful as any of you."

The Sandman sighed. "You may be our brother, but you will still have to face the consequences of your actions."

And so, Dream was punished for his crime. But the four Endless could not help but feel a sense of sadness and loss. Despite his flaws, Dream was still their brother, and they could not help but mourn the loss of his friendship and trust.
