Chapter 1:
Desire of the Endless watched as the armies of Greece and Troy clashed on the battlefield. The God of Desire had taken a particular interest in one of the warriors, a man by the name of Achilles. He was the greatest warrior of his time, and Desire could feel the intensity of his passion for battle.
As the battle raged on, Desire saw an opportunity to get closer to Achilles. He decided to take on the form of a Trojan soldier and sneak behind enemy lines. It didn't take long for him to locate Achilles, who was fighting with all his might against the Trojan soldiers.
Desire was impressed by the warrior's skill and determination. He knew that he had to get closer to him.
Chapter 2:
As the days passed, Desire found himself drawn to Achilles more and more. He would watch him as he trained, and he was in awe of his strength and agility. He began to feel a desire for Achilles that was different from anything he had ever felt before.
One day, Desire decided to reveal himself to Achilles. He took on his true form and approached the warrior as he was resting after a long day of training.
Achilles was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the God of Desire. He was hesitant at first, but Desire quickly put his mind at ease. He explained that he had been watching him for some time and that he had developed feelings for him.
Chapter 3:
At first, Achilles was hesitant to reciprocate Desire's feelings. He was a warrior, and he had never thought of himself as having any interest in men. But as he spent more time with Desire, he began to see him in a different light.
Desire was unlike anyone Achilles had ever met before. He was mysterious and captivating, and he made Achilles feel things he had never felt before.
The two began a secret romance, meeting in the cover of darkness and stealing moments together whenever they could. It was a risky endeavor, as their relationship was taboo in the eyes of many.
Chapter 4:
As the Trojan War continued, Achilles and Desire found it increasingly difficult to keep their relationship a secret. Rumors began to circulate, and they knew that it was only a matter of time before someone found out.
One day, during a particularly heated battle, Achilles was struck by an enemy's arrow. Desire watched in horror as the warrior fell to the ground, mortally wounded.
As Achilles lay dying in his arms, Desire made a vow to him. He promised that he would never forget their love, and that he would honor Achilles' memory forever.
Chapter 5:
In the aftermath of the war, Desire was left to mourn the loss of his lover. He wandered the world, searching for a way to ease the pain in his heart.
Eventually, he found himself in the realm of the Endless, where he was reunited with his siblings. They could sense his grief and offered him their condolences.
It was Death who spoke to him first. "I know the pain of losing someone you love," she said. "But you must remember that love never truly dies. It lives on, in memories and in the hearts of those who knew it."
Desire took those words to heart, and he knew that Achilles would always be with him, in spirit if not in body.
Desire returned to the mortal realm, where he watched as the world changed around him. He knew that he could never forget Achilles, and he was content to keep his memory alive.
One day, as he was walking through a crowded marketplace, he heard a familiar voice. It was Achilles' voice, and it was coming from a young man who looked just like him.
Desire approached the man, and he could feel his heart skip a beat. He had never felt this way before. Achilles was a fierce warrior, with an iron will and a body that seemed chiseled from stone. Desire was captivated by him, and he couldn't help but wonder if Achilles felt the same way.
As they talked, Desire found himself falling deeper and deeper in love. He was drawn to Achilles' strength, his bravery, and his unwavering loyalty. And yet, there was something else about him, something that Desire couldn't quite put his finger on.
As the Trojan War raged on around them, Desire and Achilles grew closer. They fought side by side, and Desire watched in awe as Achilles cut down his enemies with ruthless efficiency. But even in the midst of battle, Desire couldn't help but steal glances at him, wondering what it would be like to be with him.
One night, as they lay in their tent together, Desire could hold back no longer. He reached out and took Achilles' hand, and the two of them shared a tender moment together. It was as if time stood still, and all that mattered was the love they shared.
But as the war continued, their relationship began to strain. Achilles was consumed by his desire for glory, and he seemed to care more about winning the war than he did about Desire. And as the days turned into weeks, Desire began to wonder if their love was doomed to fail.
Finally, the day came when Achilles was struck down on the battlefield. Desire rushed to his side, cradling him in his arms as he took his final breath. It was a moment of heart-wrenching sorrow, and Desire felt as if a part of him had died along with Achilles.
But even in death, their love lived on. Desire vowed to honor Achilles' memory, and he spent the rest of his days remembering the love they had shared. And though he knew that he would never find another love quite like that, he knew that he had been blessed to have experienced it at all.
Epilogue
As Desire wandered the earth, he couldn't help but think about Achilles. He knew that he would never forget him, and that his love for him would last for all eternity.
But as he walked through the streets of a bustling city, he felt a strange sensation in his chest. It was as if his heart was skipping a beat, and he knew in that moment that he had found something new.
Desire smiled enigmatically to himself, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. He knew that he had many more adventures ahead of him, and that he would continue to seek out new experiences and new loves. And as he walked into the night, he knew that he was ready for whatever the future held.
Desire returned to the Dreaming, feeling the weight of his experiences with Achilles still heavy on his mind. He sought out his siblings, and found them gathered together, as if waiting for him.
Delirium was the first to speak, bounding over to Desire and pulling him into a tight embrace. "You're back!" she exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
Despair watched the reunion with a small smile, then turned her attention to the rest of the group. "So, what have you been up to?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
Destiny spoke up, his eyes fixed on Desire. "We have been watching, as always. And we have seen your journey, brother. We have seen your struggles and your triumphs."
Death nodded in agreement. "You have returned to us changed, Desire. What have you learned on your journey?"
Desire looked around at his siblings, his heart heavy with the weight of his experiences. "I have learned that love can be a powerful force, even for beings such as ourselves. And that sometimes, even the greatest heroes can fall."
Destruction spoke up then, his voice low and rumbling. "And what of Achilles? What became of him?"
Desire looked away, a sad smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "He died, as all mortals do. But I will never forget him. He was a great warrior, and a greater lover."
The Doctor stepped forward then, his eyes shining with curiosity. "And what of Troy? Did you witness the fall of the city?"
Desire shook his head. "No. My time with Achilles was before the fall. But I have heard the stories, and I know that it was a great tragedy."
The Sandman spoke up then, his voice quiet but powerful. "And what of the future, Desire? What will become of you now?"
Desire smiled, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "Who knows? Perhaps I will find another great love. Or perhaps I will simply enjoy the chaos of the mortal world. The future is always uncertain, my dear brother. But one thing is for certain - I will always be Desire."
