Desire stood in the corner, a sly smile on their lips as they watched Destruction and the Sandman argue. They knew that if they played their cards right, they could manipulate the situation to their advantage.
As the argument between the two continued, Desire approached Destruction and whispered in their ear, "You know, Sandman is always trying to one-up you. He thinks he's better than you."
Destruction's eyes widened in realization, and they turned to face the Sandman with renewed determination. "You're always trying to outdo me, aren't you?" they said accusingly.
The Sandman looked confused. "What are you talking about?"
Desire stepped forward, placing a hand on Destruction's shoulder. "Don't let him fool you," they said. "He's always trying to make himself look better than you."
The Sandman shook his head, realizing what Desire was doing. "Don't listen to them, Destruction. They're just trying to gaslight you."
But it was too late. Destruction had already fallen for Desire's manipulations, and they stormed out of the room in a rage.
The Sandman turned to Desire, anger flashing in his eyes. "Why did you do that?" he demanded.
Desire shrugged. "It's in my nature," they said with a smirk. "I can't help but stir up trouble."
The Sandman glared at them, but he knew that arguing with Desire was pointless. They were too slippery, too unpredictable.
As the three of them stood in silence, the weight of the murder still hanging over them, Desire couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. They had successfully manipulated Destruction and gaslighted him into turning against the Sandman.
But as the reality of what they had done set in, Desire began to feel a twinge of guilt. Maybe they had gone too far this time.
The Sandman, sensing their discomfort, spoke up. "I know you enjoy playing games, Desire," he said. "But you need to be careful. You never know when your actions will have consequences."
Desire nodded, taking his words to heart. Maybe it was time to tone down their games, to take a break from their manipulations and enjoy the simpler things in life.
But as they turned to leave, a new idea began to form in their mind. Maybe there was one more game they could play. One that would be even more thrilling than anything they had done before.
As Desire slipped away into the night, a wicked smile on their lips, the Sandman and Destruction could only watch in uneasy anticipation, wondering what kind of trouble their sibling would stir up next.
